Snowflakes fall with drifting grace, Like a lover in partners embrace, Carefree falling gently guiding, Drifting to the banks below. Mindless wafts which drift and flutter, Floating down in mindless clutter, Creating banks and drifts abroad, In salutation to the light. Each lithe dance, Thy flakes perform, In lofty flights below Ebb and flow in natures dance In the early twilight of the morn. Mother earth embraces love, In the whispers of the night, Allowing children to roam her land, In concern for their might. With each December gust, Another year hath passed. School is out for two more weeks, As each year wanders past. This magic time of year We perform the sacred rite, and pass on life learned morals of what is wrong, what is right. Quietly we fade into the years You sit alone wishing of times past, Wishing for a taste of Christmas snow Pulled from memories of the past.
