STILL ALIVE: DETACHABLE VERSION APOLOGIES: To Johnathan Coulton who wrote the original "Still Alive." NOTE: This is basically a re-write of the lyrics into filk about detachable body parts, from the perspective of someone with such a capability. LYRICS: Looks like a problem. It's really just my ability. I can see, within your eyes, confusion. Yes, I'm a head now. I am waiting for my body So I can be whole again and thus stop freaking you out. I'll admit it's something you don't see ev'ry day It defies all logic going ev'ry which way How can I without lungs Even speak and breathe and hum Heck I'm amazed that I'm still alive I'm not even injured Even though in reality, I should at least be bleeding profusely. But tear me to peices And spread all the peices really far, I indeed would be useless but it would do me no harm. Now I would explain it if I had understood But figuring it out seems to do me no good. The secret seems to be locked But at least I can take stock On the notion that I'm Still Alive (interlude) Perhaps you can help me If you can carry me around And aid me with searching for my body. It's around here somewhere. I hope that it still is in one peice. Though with enough fumb-l-ing it probably isn't now. How can I quite thank you for saying that you'll try? I can sure admit that you'll be glad I'm not I With this happ'ning all the time With no real reason or rhyme It is strange how I am still alive. Defying logic I am still alive. Hey there's my body, and its still alive. Thanks for helping me. Yes I'm still alive. And thank goodness that I am still alive. Still alive. Still alive.
