Skinnet Recharged Skinnet smiled from ear to ear as he walked. The Hundred Year Moon was his time to shine. His usual brand of awful smelling stink was replaced with something much more pleasant to the noses of other animals. It had surprised him the first time he unleashed the pink cloud on that one wolf, but now he was able to help Prince Laval. It had taken him hours to recharge his tummy, but Skinnet wanted to make sure this stink was gonna be top notch. It was already late when he started recharging, so the skunk knew this was likely going to be his only shot. Skinnet was almost giddy when he felt the tell-tale gurgle in his tummy that meant he was about to burst. Skinnet was so excited to be of service to the prince, that he happily hopped towards the large pack of wolves in the jungle. However, the skunk was so happy, he didn't notice that the sun was already high in the sky when he made it to the wolf pack. "Hey everyone, I finally recharged!" Skinnet annouced to Laval and his court. He thought for a second that this night was not as dark as usual, but then he just assumed that someone was keeping a spotlight on him for his triumphant return. "I'm ready to drop the biggest, sweetest smelling stink EVER on those wolves!" Skinnet continued. He made sure to emphasize every word so that hopefully, he'd be quoted as a legend from this day forward. "No! Stop! The full moon's gone, and so is your sweet smell!" Laval shouted, desperately trying to stop Skinnet from what he was about do. Unfortunately, the skunk's tail was already lifted up high, and right after Laval spoke, the familar squeak of Skinnet's stink could be heard. "Too late." Skinnet said in defeat. He had already decided mentally not to hold back, so all that pent up stink he'd been charging was unleashed in a giant green cloud that covered everyone nearby. Laval was right, unlike the sweet smell of his night-time gas, this stink was absolutely horrid and lead to many animals coughing and gagging. "Sorr-rry." Skinnet offered weekly. This was far from the heroic moment he had practiced in his head over and over again last night. But, he still kept his chin up and remembered to check his surrounding next time.
