Red Striped Tiger “IT’S HOT!” I screamed. Most people go to the people don’t even dare walk outside during a hot day and just stay inside their house and blast on the air conditioners. Well that was what everyone in my whole block was doing and short-circuited the power. Now everyone is outside under the shade. A 17 year old, slim, 5’5, red fox like me should be hanging out with friends in an air-conditioned mall right now but no, I have to wait for everyone to finish whatever they’re doing. “Fuck this hot weather,” Rex said. My older brother Rex is a silver fox, a bit fit and a foot taller than me. “Move over Shorty,” he said to me. And he is also a big jerk! But I know he really cares about me. “What was that you shit head?” “Eh? You didn’t hear me? I said move over Shorty!” My response to him was an easy one. I punched him in the face. As he plummeted to the ground I was smiling in victory. “Hahaha!” “Tony stop fighting with your brother and have some lemonade,” my mom said walking out with a pint of lemonade. “It’s not really a fight if he doesn’t fight back,” I exclaimed. “Well now your brother might be holding back remember he is on the football team,” dad said walking out with some glasses. Rex stood up and grinned at me, “Yeah bro remember that.” He grabbed me and tackled me to the ground. My parents didn’t do anything but watched and sip their lemonade. An hour past and both of us are tired as hell. I notice he was going to attack, but before he could my cell phone rang. “Time!” I said but it seems too late when he charged at me. I moved to get my cell phone and he face planted to the fence. I and my parents were laughing our ass off. “I’ll get you for this little brother,” Rex said rubbing his face. I answered my cell and say it was Connie “Hello Connie, how’s my favorite best corgi friend!” “Hot and bored let’s go to the mall already,” she said. “Ok I’ll be there in a few. I’ll meet you guys at the water fountain in the middle of the mall at 3.” “Ok don’t be late like that time when we went shopping for the party.” “Hey that was one time!” . . . 3:00. “And she said not to be late,” I said with an angered look on my face. Lost in my train of angered thoughts I felt a poke on my forehead. “Oi! Tony wake up,” Joelle said; she’s a short white furred rabbit, same age as me, and she has awesome artwork . “You shouldn’t be sleeping there Tony, someone might come over and take you away and rape you,” Nabor said laughing his ass off; he’s a tall fit hyena and Joelle’s boyfriend and also the best fighting gamer I’ve seen. “WHAT!” I screamed. “Sorry we’re late someone here had to take out the trash when he should’ve done it this morning,” Connie said glaring at Nabor; she’s a corgi, short but with amazing fashion sense. I said nothing and walked off with everyone else. I was an amazing day better than just sitting at home sweating. After getting something to drink from Starbucks we headed out to look at the summer clothing! “It’s time to shop!” Connie said with a gleam in her eyes and crushing her empty drink. “Some of us aren’t done with our drinks yet Connie,” Nabor said sipping his drink. “Well you can drink while walking with me,” she said. “By walk I think you mean run I bet,” I said. She smiled to give us her answer. “Of course,” we groaned. As we “walked” from store to store I bumped into someone and spilled my drink all over him. “Oh crap I am so sorry,” I said, grabbing the napkins from my pocket to wipe the drink off of the stranger. “It’s ok this stuff happens.” As I heard his voice I looked up at his face and I was shocked, a tiger with red stripes, so odd. “Well…ummm…” I mumbled. My heart was beating and felt like it’ll jump right out of my chest. He was so hot 6 ft, medium brown hair with blonde highlights, and fit, so fit that his 6 pack was kind of showing through his shirt. “I’m Tyler. Tyler Lenning. It’s nice to meet you...umm… what’s your name?” he asked smiling at me. I blushed and answered, “Tony. Tony Fox. It’s nice to meet you too.” “Well Tony how about I get you a new drink?” “Oh you don’t have to do that I was thinking of getting you a new shirt.” “Don’t worry about it I was planning on buying a new shirt today anyways.” “Really?” Our nice convocation was interrupted by my friends. “Tony!” I reacted to the yell and looked over Tyler shocked at what I saw. They were running over here with worried looks on their faces. “Oh god,” I expressed. I told them what happen and introduced Tyler to everyone. “But really let me buy you a new shirt Tyler,” I said smiling at him. “I’m not going to be able to talk you out of this huh?” he said rubbing his head. “He’s suborned like that,” Nabor said. Tyler sighed and nodded his head. . . . After 30 minutes of trying to find Tyler a new shirt, he had to leave. “I have to go now but it was really nice to get to know you all,” he said waving good-bye to us. “I wonder if you’re going to see him again tony,” Connie said teasing me. I just blushed at what she said. “Oh he’s coming back,” Joelle said pointing at Tyler running back at us. “I almost forgot,” he said tired and out of breath. He grabbed my hand and put a piece of paper on it. No way don’t tell me this is happening! I thought to myself. He gave me a smile and ran off. “OH no way did he give you his digits?” Nabor asked looking and the paper in my hand. As I unfolded the paper my heart started to beat loudly that I think everyone can hear it beating. Seven numbers. I saw seven numbers on the paper and a cute little drawing of a tiger with red stripes on him. I blushed and fainted. “Oh he fainted,” Joelle said smiling.
