2BIT the fox's birthday was coming up, and with that in mind, Cupie the cherub mouse secretly gathered a few members of BIT Squad in hopes of planning the occasion. "Alright, thank you all for helping out! Our leader works so hard and I wanna make his birthday so bright and special! So, uh... Any idea what sorta gift we should give him?" Cupie asked. "Solitude... That's what I want. Isn't it technically all our birthdays?" Dusk murmured. "Not mine!" Gator said, "And where was my presents??" he asked. Zed the zebra shrugged. "Uhm... We combined your birthday with Halloween, Gator. And, uh, technically 2BIT didn't split into multiple BITs on his birthday, so no, it's not our birthday too." he stated. Cupie glanced at Dogson and Blocky. "Do you two have any ideas? You're like, our thoughts in people form!" he grinned. Dogson crossed his arms. "I represent nostalgia! All I know is everything that isn't as good as the good old days! I miss Toys R Us!" he blurted. Everyone stared at him. "Uhhh... No, we're not getting 2BIT any toys." Dusk murmured. "Toys R Us is gone!?" Gator gasped, a look of despair on his face. Blocky let out some digital beeps as he started walking away. "I represent 2BIT's memory, and I just remembered I have work to do..." he stated. "Aw, but can't you think of anything?" Zed asked. Blocky glanced back at the group. "I do not gain 2BIT's new memories in real-time. He only sends to me important memories since I split from him. Something like what he wants for his birthday does not qualify... But I can send you to the man who might know." he stated. Cupie looked excited. "You can! Wow, I knew you were smart!" he grinned. "It's not just sending us directly to ask 2BIT, is it, because that'd be anticlimactic." Dusk sighed.

Blocky sent Cupie, Zed and Dusk to Christmas Town. Santa Claus knows the wishes of everyone on his list, so surely he could help them out. However, it being December, the group couldn't get in to see Santa himself, or Mrs. Claus, or even Rudolf. The best they could get was Booster the reindeer, who brought them to a sort of records room where all the letters, emails and other wishes are filed away. "2BIT's birthday is right during our busy season, huh? I've heard that's rough but I can't see how! You get to celebrate your birthday surrounded by Christmas!" he smiled. "Oh, yeah... Who could POSSIBLY be annoyed by that..." Dusk groaned. Cupie flitted past him, looking around with eyes full of wonder at all the festive decor around them. "Oooooh... It must be so fun working here! Uhm... So, does 2BIT have a Christmas list we can peek at?" he asked. Booster sat at a monitor, checking a few files. "Ho ho...hum... Ahhh... We got nothin' on 2BIT for this year! He hasn't made any Christmas wishes that I can see!" he stated. "Huh? That you can see? Doesn't Santa see everything?" Zed asked. "Poor Santa..." Dusk shivered. Booster chuckled softly, getting up and flying around Cupie quickly. "You see, sometimes people have wishes that not even Santa Claus can grant. Those get left out of our database because the elves, they have such kind hearts, they'd do their best to make every dream come true, and we'd run outta time! Not even Santa can grant every wish...Nope." he said, setting down on the ground between Zed and Dusk and placing his arms around them, "Even the most powerful and magical of us need help sometimes. I think that's why your squad exists in the first place! Santa can't deliver every miracle, but we hope that people will follow our example, and learn to give in places we can't. That's why... That's why Santa Claus does what he does. To inspire the world... that we might all think about others, and make each other happy." he smiled. Cupie sniffled to hear that speech. "That's so beautiful!! I'm just gonna go home and give 2BIT a great big hug and maybe that'll help him feel better that Santa can't grant his wishes!" he said, flitting toward the exit. Zed blinked a couple times. "Seriously, though, you can't suggest, like, a video game or something?" he babbled.

2BIT's birthday arrived, and with no ideas on what to give him, the squad resorted to cards when the time came. "Another birthday... Another year closer to death. Well, this card's obviously from Dusk..." 2BIT chuckled awkwardly. "Hallmark was having an off day when they wrote that one..." Vixy mumbled. Stripes was busy lighting candles on a large, chocolate cake they'd gotten for the occasion. "Stupid lighter! Can we just get 2BIT's Charizard in here?" he complained. "No way! Then we'll need to let all the Pokemon out, and they'll all want a piece, and how do we divide this cake a thousand ways!?" Gator protested. "I don't have a thousand Pokemon! ...Wait, do I? Holy Krabby..." 2BIT murmured. At 2BIT's request, they lit exactly 20 candles. "Wait, you can't be 20, I can remember the 90s!" Dogson babbled. "Hush, I'm guardian of the multiverse, I'll say I'm as old as I want!" the blue fox whispered. Cupie smiled cutely. "Well, blow out the candles and make a wish, and I hope it manages to come true!" he said, turning and wiping tears from his eyes. "E-even though Santa can't--" Zed covered his mouth to silence him. "Hehe, never mind him! Happy Birthday, 2BIT!" he said with a nervous grin. 2BIT nodded, and shut his eyes, thinking of his wish. "...My wish is the same as every year... Somehow, someway... I wish...to be loved..." he thought, blowing out his candles. Even demigods get lonely, and as 2BIT sat with his many selves, enjoying some sweet birthday cake, he silently hoped that this would be the year he would find the one with whom he could truly share his life with...
...Who knows? He might already know that person, somewhere in the universe...
