Cream was bored. In recent years when she was bored, she'd go visit Tails, but that seemed awkward now. In previous years she'd visit Amy, but she was wrapped up in planning a wedding... Rainbow's or her own, sometimes that wasn't quite clear. Cheese seemed bored too, and ultimately, Cream decided to look for people closer to her own age to hang out with. Closest to her house, though she didn't really know him, was Tommy the porcupine. He was outside shooting hoops when she arrived. "Hi... Can I play?" Cream asked shyly. Tommy looked over with a smile. "Um... Okay! Catch!" he said, tossing the ball. Cream flapped her ears, flying closer to catch it. "Hey... That's cheating!" Tommy chuckled. "But it's so much easier to get it in the hoop like this!" Cream teased, flying over and dropping the ball in easily. "That's... kinda the point of calling it cheating..." Tommy said wryly. Cheese flew to the ball and tried to lift it, but it was a little too heavy for him. "Hmm, maybe you two should play defense. Try to stop me from getting the ball in the hoop!" Tommy suggested.

The pair were having fun for a while, when suddenly, someone flew by and snatched the ball! It was Charmy Bee, giggling playfully as he held it out of reach. "Keep-away! Keep-away! Ha ha!" he shouted playfully. Tommy and Cream looked up at him in bewilderment. Then, Cheese plopped onto the bee's head, trying to cover his eyes. "Hey! Who turned out the lights!" he stammered. Cream flew up, giggling as she pulled the ball away from him. "No fair!" Charmy whined. "Keep away from Charmy!" Cream teased, throwing the ball to Tommy. He chuckled as Charmy flew after him. "Oh yeah? I'm too fast for ya! Ha ha!" Charmy giggled, trying to block Tommy from throwing the ball away. Cheese flew up and started to tickle him, making him laugh uncontrollably. "No fair! No fair!!" he cried as he giggled. Cream caught the ball next, and flew up high as Charmy came after her. "Nu-uh!" Charmy teased, blocking her path to Tommy at every turn. She decided to take a chance going around, and the two suddenly collided, both starting to fall! "Oh, no! Look out!" Tommy gasped. He ran to catch one of them, but Vector suddenly stomped in front of him. "I got her..." he grunted before Cream landed on his head. "Ooof!!" Charmy stopped falling in midair, only for Espio to suddenly appear holding him up. "What did we tell you about wandering off?" he grunted. "Don't do it unless you know where I am?" he said sheepishly.

Espio and Vector took Charmy with them, leaving Cream and Tommy to chuckle awkwardly about the whole thing. "Thanks for playing with me...uhhh..." she said, realizing she didn't really even know his name. "Tommy. I'm glad you showed up, too... My bro's been on my mind... He's out there, under the control of some... not very nice guys." he murmured. "Oh... I'm sorry..." Cream replied. Her own problems seemed small compared to that. "...My name's Cream, and this is my Chao friend, Cheese." she smiled, "I've been a little lonely... I can't really hang out with my friends lately..." she explained. Tommy shook her hand. "It's okay. You can hang out with me. And I guess Charmy; When his 'Dads' let him out to play!" he said, both of them giggling. "Yeah! I guess you're right!" she smiled. However, as she turned to head home, she hugged Cheese and frowned a bit. A thought popped into her head. "...He so reminds me of Tails... They even look kinda similar, only different species..." she thought. She let out a heavy sigh as she was heading for home. "...Am I too hard on Tails, Cheese? Should I visit him soon?" she murmured. "Are you talkin' to yourself?" asked Charmy, who was hanging upside down from a nearby tree. "Huh?? I thought you went home!" she gasped. Charmy giggled. "I gave Vector the slip! Can I hide out at your place for a while?" he giggled. Cream looked up at him and began to smile. "Well, okay. I'm sure my mom won't mind, hehe!" As she headed for home with Charmy by her side, Cream began to feel better. She'd talk to Amy and Tails again when the time was right. That didn't mean she couldn't have fun with other friends in the meantime!
