Seven shiny crystal gems, To do with as I please! My father brings home food and gold And wonders such as these. Six colorful gleaming jewels, The seventh has been lost. My brother stole one for himself, And there shall be a cost. Five, my precious stones become, My brother claims their art. A vigil I must surely keep And guard them with my heart. Woe unto the devil that Has brought my stones to four! Blood shall spill upon our nest Should he take any more. Today I found my treasure three Upon my rise from sleep. Tonight it is decided that His life is mine to reap. On failing to take the thief's life, I retreated from the nest. Worse yet, he brought the jewels to two When he emerged the best. A single gem I must now guard Without the heart to play. I do not think I'll stand the pain If it is stolen away. A dark day I dread to face: My treasure is no more. My lot is to hold none But sharp stones on the floor. An eternity passes by; Or so it seems to me. My brother and the seven gems Where I can plainly see. Soon ideas come to mind; My teeth bare at the thought. Dreams of blood and squeals of pain Lessons he must be taught. When he slumbers in the night I approach my prey. Before he can scream my teeth meet flesh; How /dare/ you take them away! The struggle does not last enough For him to make a sound. Opening my bloody fangs He drops onto the ground. A hatchling stands over his prize Devoid of all remorse. A greed and bloodlust in his eyes As instinct takes its course. Let this be a lesson dear, Misers and thieves alike. From avarice comes only death, From greed only a strike.
