Tristan walked into work, the black Labrador putting on his badge and heading to his laboratory. He was an intern, hoping to be done and get his credits soon. His supervisors seemed a bit too cold for a scientific environment in his opinion. He didn't have much time to think about it though, as a klaxon started to blare before he even got to his assigned laboratory. He looked around quickly, trying to determine what exactly the alarm meant. He heard some people shouting somewhere else in the building. He shrugged and decided to keep going until he knew something about what was going on. As he passed the tank of a sample that he was sometimes assigned to observe, he idly pressed his paw to the heavy glass. As usual, the amorphous white substance inside surged up to meet his paw. He removed it, and walked the remaining few yards to his destination. He took his badge and swiped it at the door of his laboratory. "oh." He said softly. One of the machines his supervisor had been working on looked like it was off-balance and overheating. Definitely a reason to sound an alarm if it couldn't be turned off. He tried to turn and run but there was a field of energy surging outward. It passed through him, and ahead of him he could see the tank shattering down the hall, splashing the opaque white substance everywhere. He didn't have time to think on this because whatever the field was it was physically dragging him back towards the malfunctioning machine and as he approached it, Tristan felt himself drift, and as he drifted, he splintered.
