I had let go of the ledge holding me up, just to escape that royal soldier. My young body fell at least five meters before coming to a sudden stop on the ground below. I had landed on my back, the back of my head making contact with the floor, knocking me out in an instant. When I came to, I felt quite a bit of pain in my body. The area I was in was pitch black, except for a small yet bright light resonating near me. "... Am I dead?" I quietly wondered. I stood up and walked over to the light, only to see that it was the crystal necklace I wear. I picked it up, as my ability to pick things up confirmed I was not dead. With the necklace back on my body, I use the glowing crystal to guide my way through what seemed like a cave. I wandered for what felt like hours until I came across what looked like a hooded creature. I decided to keep myself hidden as I quietly followed whatever it was... but that's when my luck suddenly ran out. One bad step I had taken, and a small 'snap' was heard as I accidently stepped on a twig. I quickly hid as the creature turned behind it. From my rocky cover, I couldn't see his face, except for his red glowing eyes that sent shivers down my spine. I didn't know whether to just book it or keep hiding... I decided to just keep hiding, praying that it wouldn't find me and it would just walk away. After a minute, I shakily peaked and saw that it was gone. "What was that...?" I asked, though unfortunately no one was around to answer. I kept going, soon finding a ladder leading to a manhole. A way out. I climbed up, uncovered the hole and finally left that dark and scary labyrinth- And better yet, found myself right at the street Dr. Nekko lived. Although... I had forgotten which of the two side-by-side houses I was looking at were his. I rub the back of my head, trying to remember... Left or right?
