On a beautiful tropical island named Christmas Island, a young mobian couple smile to one another as they hear a little giggling sound, coming from the middle of them. They both look down as a little blue-furred hedgehoglet was swinging between them. 

The young female inhales and exhales as she smiles and turns to her husband.

"It's such a beautiful day today, isn't it, Jules?"

"It is, Bernie. I can't remember the last time we had such nice weather..."

The little blue-furred hedgehoglet, named Sonic, giggles excitedly as he lets go of his parents' hands. He runs ahead of them and soon kneels down on the ground, taking a closer look at a nearby rockpool.

"Wow! Mama, daddy, lwook! A starfwish!"

Bernie smiles as she kneels down beside the little hedgehoglet. She puts an arm around his shoulder as she looks at the starfish also.

"Wow, that's a really pretty one! Ooh, look at this too! Do you know what this is, sweetie?"

Bernie points to a baby crab and Sonic curiously pokes it. All of a sudden the crab pinches Sonic's finger and he starts to cry, holding onto his finger.

Bernie lowers her ears and turns to Jules. Jules kneels down and gently takes Sonic's finger into his hand, looking closely at the wound. Sonic sniffs as Bernie takes off her handbag and looks inside it. She takes out a band aid and gently kisses Sonic's finger.

"Don't worry sweetheart, mommy's kiss will make it better..."

Sonic sniffs again as he watches Bernie stick the band aid onto his finger. Bernie and Jules both wrap their arms around Sonic and Jules points down at the crab again. 

"Do you know what it is, Sonic?"

"A cwab?"

"That's right! Now, how about this?"

Sonic sucks his thumb as he curiously watches Jules point at a pile of seaweed. He lowers his ears and blushes as he wasn't sure what it was.

"Me nwot sure what dat is, daddy..."

Jules smiles as he ruffles his hair and points back to it.

"It's alright, son. It's seaweed! You see it a lot in oceans and rockpools and you can eat it too, but it's pretty salty..."

Sonic wags his tail.

"Cwool!"

Jules chuckles as he ruffles Sonic's hair once again. Bernie kisses Sonic's head as she stands up, putting her handbag back onto her shoulder. Sonic looks back to Bernie and Jules and soon stands up, holding onto Bernie's hand.

"Mama, are we gwoing hwome now?"

Bernie looks back as Jules follows behind before noticing a sunset appear over the ocean. She turns back to Sonic and smiles down at him.

"Yes we are, sweetie. It's getting a bit late..."

Sonic nods as he walks beside Bernie before Jules reaches out his hand and gently grabs Sonic's hand. Sonic giggles as he looks up at him, smiling widely. 

"You're pretty happy today... aren't ya, pal?"

"Me am, daddy! Me hwad fwun today..."

Jules chuckles and Bernie giggles from their son's excitement.

After walking for half an hour, the three mobians arrive within a forested area. Bernie walks over to a nearby flower patch within the forest and kneels down, gently pulling Sonic down next to her.

The little blue blur kneels down and claps his hands, noticing an array of flowers, all multi-coloured and spread across the field. He reaches out and picks a few before holding them out to Bernie.

"Flowers for you, mwommy!"

Bernie giggles and takes them from him, sniffing them. She puts them on the ground before kissing Sonic's cheek.

"You little sweetheart~"

Jules chuckles as he kneels down next to them, admiring the flowers.

"You're gonna be a real ladies man when you grow up, little man..."

Sonic giggles shyly as he picks a flower and sniffs it before handing it to Jules. Jules takes the flower and smiles before putting it down next to him. He ruffles Sonic's hair and lays back on the grass, closing his eyes.

Bernie brings Sonic closer to her and lays down next to him, sighing contently as they all look up at the clouds.

"Me cwan swee a flower cloud, mwommy!"

Bernie smiles over to Jules as he points up into the sky.

"Really? I can see a dog!"

Sonic and Bernie giggle and cuddle each other as they both continue to look up into the sky with Jules.

After a few minutes, Jules quickly sits up from his position, hearing a metallic banging sound in the distance. He perks his ears up and gets into a standing position, observing the surroundings.

Bernie, who had heard Jules getting up, soon opens her eyes and squints as she looks up at Jules, covering her eyes slightly.

"What's wrong, Jules?"

Jules soon gets into a defensive position as he whispers down to Bernie.

<i>"Bernie, take Sonic and run... now!"</i>

Bernie looks up at confusion but soon hears the metallic clanging getting closer to their position. She nods and picks up Sonic before running towards some nearby bushes.

The little blue blur rubs his eyes with his hands before looking up at Bernie.

"Mwommy, what gwoing on?"

Bernie puts a finger to her lips as she whispers.

<i>"Dr Eggman is coming back again... be very quiet, okay sweetie?"</i>

Sonic lowers his ears and shivers a bit as he clings onto Bernie's leg. Bernie looks down at the little hedgehoglet and gently wraps an arm around him, holding him close.

<i>"It'll be ok, sweetie... just stay close to me, okay?"</i>

Sonic nods as he looks over to Jules, hearing the sound get closer.

"Well well... if it isn't Jules Hedgehog. It is a pleasure to see you again, my friend..."

Jules clenches his fists as he stares up at a figure in a hovering vehicle. A smirk was on the figure's face and he was tapping his fingers together in a maniacal fashion. 

Jules bares his teeth at the figure as he makes a small growling sound.

"Eggman..."

Eggman chuckles evilly as he flies his vehicle around to Jules' side, producing several Buzz Bombers, which hover above his and Jules' position.  

"Where is your lovely wife, Jules? I hear that you both have a child now..."

"That's none of your business, Eggman..."

Eggman smirks as he looks around. He soon hears a small sneezing sound and chuckles evilly as he flies towards the bushes that Bernie and Sonic were hiding in. The Buzz Bombers follow behind and Jules runs ahead and stands in front of the bushes.

"I assume that the noise we just heard came from your wife and child?"

Bernie gasps as she hears the buzzing of the Buzz Bomber getting louder. She holds Sonic closely as Eggman's vehicle produces a robotic arm. He attempts to push the bush away with the arm but soon gasps as Jules performs a spindash, destroying the arm. 

He then lands in front of Eggman and glares up at Eggman.

"Get away from them!"

Sonic, who was watching his father the entire time, gasps as he witnessed Jules perform a homing attack. He was about to walk out of the bush but soon feels Bernie pull him back.

"Bwut mwommy--"

Bernie was about to place a finger on her lips but soon stands up as she notices Eggman looking straight at her. She gently pushes Sonic behind her and feels as he holds onto her leg.

"Well well, this must be your wife and child..."

Sonic watches in horror as Eggman smirks at Bernie before turning to look at him directly.

Jules stands in front of Bernie and Sonic as Eggman flies closer to them.

"So, this is the little pipsqueak who's going to defeat me in the future? Pfft, what a joke!"

Eggman laughs evilly but soon notices Sonic emerge from behind Bernie. He glares at Eggman and walks towards him, fists clenched and by his side.

"Who are wou?"

Eggman hovers down to Sonic's level and glares back at him.

"I am Dr Eggman, rodent... who are you?"

"Me Swonic... Swonic the Hwedgehog and me gwoing to bweat you up when me older..."

Eggman smirks and laughs evilly as he notices Sonic trying to act tough.

"Well, little rodent... I'd like to see you try."

Eggman flies his hovercraft closer to Sonic and holds up his hand, signalling to the Buzz Bombers to begin attacking him. Before the Buzz Bombers could fire their bullets towards Sonic, Jules reacts quickly and grabs Sonic before jumping out of the way of the bullets. He then runs over to Bernie and hands Sonic over to her.

"Go, Bernie! Take our son somewhere safe!"

Bernie grabs Jules' arm with her free hand and gives him a stern expression.

"No! I can't let you fight him alone!"

Jules looks back at Bernie, giving her stern expression also. 

"Look, don't worry about me! I can defeat him with a homing attack, I always do!"

Bernie lowers her ears and turns away as she reluctantly runs in the opposite direction. She and Sonic watch as Jules turns into a ball and starts destroying the Buzz Bombers, one by one with no effort.

"Wow!"

Sonic continues to watch in amazement as Jules soon smirks and crosses his arms, looking up at Eggman.

"Same as ever, doctor... your robots are still weak."

Eggman growls as he hits his hand on the control panel of his hovercraft. He then watches as Bernie and Sonic emerge from their hiding spot and walk to Jules' position.

Eggman looks to Bernie and Jules and soon smirks before laughing evilly once again as Bernie holds Sonic close to her chest.

"A minor setback, my friend... I'll be back, rodents, just you wait and see."

Sonic pulls away from Bernie and storms off towards Eggman, smirking and shouting as he flies away.

"My dwaddy kwick your bwutt again nwext twime!"

Jules chuckles as he notices that Eggman had already gone. He pulls Sonic back and hugs him in his arms.

"Easy there, tiger..."

Sonic soon smiles as he snuggles into his father's chest.

"Sowwy daddy... bwut that was weally cwool! When you twurned into a bwall and the wobots went boom!"

Bernie giggles as she walks over to Jules, giving his muzzle a kiss. Jules chuckles and watches as Bernie ruffles Sonic's quills before kissing his muzzle also.

"I see we've raised a little fighter... you were very brave, sweetie."

Sonic giggles as he holds onto Jules.

"Fanks mwommy! Me wanna lwearn those cwool things, dwaddy!"

Jules chuckles again as he kisses Sonic's head, walking beside Bernie.

"Don't worry Sonic, I'll teach you how to do those tricks someday and then you'll be a fighter just like me and your mother."

"Fanks daddy!"

Bernie and Jules smile as they both kiss Sonic's muzzle.
