"Listen up, guys! We got an hour until Shadow and Yami come back!"

Two young foxes named Tails and Myla both turn to the source of the voice and smile before nodding their heads. Kira, who overheard the conversation, walks into the living room from the kitchen and smiles as she watches the foxes.

"No problem, Sonic! We're almost done!"

"Just need to wire up these lights... anddddd... done!"

The two foxes soon climb down from the couch and look at each other before giving each other a high five. The female fox smiles and gives the young male a kiss on his cheek. The young male, named Tails, blushes and chuckles nervously.

Sonic smirks as he hangs one of the balloons up on the bottom of the stair rail.

"Well well... look who's got a girlfriend~"

The two foxes look away from each other as they start blushing brightly. Kira giggles at the two foxes and walks over to Sonic.

"They would make quite a cute couple... don't you think so, Sonic~?"

"Yeah, totally~"

Sonic smirks at Kira and nods before putting his arm around her. Kira blushes and looks down at Sonic's hand. Tails smirks.

"Well well... look who's acting friendly~"

Sonic soon moves his hand away and nervously rubs his finger against his nose. Kira blushes and clears her throat before walking back to the kitchen.

"Hey Kimi, how's the cake doing?"

Kimi, a young teal-coloured female hedgehog, smiles as she puts down an icing tube that she was using in order to decorate Shadow's cake.

"It's going great, sis! Though I think I might add some sparkly things to make it look pretty..."

Kira nods and looks down at the cake. It was a chocolate flavoured cake which had been shaped into a Chaos Emerald. It was covered in sections of different shades of green icing.

Sonic, Tails and Myla soon all high five each other before walking into the kitchen and looking down at the cake alongside Kira. Sonic wags his tail as he looks down at it.  
 
"Wow, it looks great! We'll definitely be making you our head cake-baker from now on!"

Kimi giggles and blushes a little, not used to receiving a compliment on her baking. 

"Aww, thanks Sonic! I do love baking cakes... remember Kira? Mom always used to bake really awesome cakes."

Kira smiles and hugs her little sister from behind. Kimi gasps a little and puts her icing tube down. She turns around and the two hug each other being pulling apart.

"Yeah I remember... mom was awesome at cakes! She must have been who YOU got it from."

Tails and Myla both smile and wag their tails as they smell the cake <i>(the cake was still a bit warm from just coming out of the oven therefore it still smelled good)</i>

"Mm, that smells great, Kimi! I can't wait to have a piece!"

Kimi giggles and ruffles Tails' hair. Tails giggles and tries to push her hands away. Kimi stops and giggles again.

"Thanks Tails!"

"Heyy, I'm t-ticklish!"

Kimi giggles and soon hears a knock at the door. She walks over and opens the door, revealing Knuckles, Rouge and Maia.

"Hey guys!"

"Hey Kira, we're here to help out."

"Great, come on in, guys!"

The three mobians enter the house and look around at the decorations. Maia smiles and walks over to the kitchen, helping out Kimi with the cake. Kira gets curious and soon walks over to Rouge.

"So Rouge... who's looking after the emerald?"

The young bat puts her hands on her waist and smirks.

"Don't worry, I got a friend of mine to cover for me. She won't steal it, I promise."

Knuckles grunts as he walks up close to Rouge and gives her an intimidating look.

"You better not be lying, Rouge..."

Kira smiles nervously and breaks the two apart.

"Now now, Knuckles... I'm sure Rouge isn't lying this time."

Knuckles crosses his arms and walks over to the living room, standing next to Sonic at the window. 


Sonic chuckles at Knuckles and Rouge's display before looking out of the window. He notices Shadow and Yami talking to each before heading to the front door. He soon perks up his ears and runs back to the living room.

"Guys, they're back... quick, get into position!!"



Kimi and Maia both put the cake down onto the side in the kitchen before hiding underneath the counter. Kira puts her hands on Tails and Myla's shoulders and runs with them to the kitchen table. They all squat down and hide underneath it.

Knuckles goes over to the curtains in the living room and stands behind them, watching as Shadow and Yami walk up the path.

"Sonic, hide!"

Sonic looks around and soon ducks down behind the couch as soon as he hears a knock at the door. 

"Hm, I guess there's no-one in."

Shadow and Yami soon get to the door. Shadow looks around the home curiously, noticing that there was no-one around. He peeks into the window, shrugs and turns to walk away. Yami puts a hand on Shadow's shoulder.

"Wait, the door might be unlocked."

Shadow turns around and scratches his head with his finger as he notices Yami reach for the door handle.

"Yami... you're not suggesting that we break in, are you?"

Yami smirks a little as she opens the unlocked door. Shadow smirks and crosses his arms.

"Of course not... I wouldn't break into my friend's house, now would I?"

"I see... you knew it was open all along."

Yami smirks as she walks inside with Shadow following her.

"Of course... Sonic's door is always open during the day."

Shadow looks around.

"It seems really quiet... are you sure this is Sonic's house? You said that he always had people over."

Yami smirks as she notices Sonic hiding behind the couch. She winks to him and looks to Shadow next to her.

"Oh, I'm sure he's around somewhere~"

Sonic looks at the other hiding mobians and counts down from three with his fingers. Once he gets to one, everyone jumps up and shouts.

"SURPRISE! HAPPY CREATION DAY, SHADOW!!"

Everyone smiles and cheers as Shadow looks around, confused. He looks over to the balloons and then back to Yami. 

"W-what's going on here?"

Yami smiles as she gently holds his hand.

"It's a party, Shadow! We wanted to do something special for you..."

"A party... for me?"

All of the mobians smile and nod at him. Sonic walks over and wraps his arm around Shadow. Shadow looks up at him, confused.

"Yeah, since a Creation Day is like a birthday, we figured that you deserved a party."

"You're... Sonic, right?"

The blue blur winks and gives him a thumbs up.

"Sure am, pal!"

Yami gets out the photograph from earlier and hands it to Shadow.

"You recognise everyone here... right?"

Shadow looks at the photo then up at everyone else. He points to Sonic in the photo then looks up at him.

"I recognise you... from Yami's photograph. She told me that you and I fought to save everyone a few years ago."

Sonic recalls the memory and smiles as he looks at the photograph.

"Yeah... we did. Hey, do you know anyone else?"

Shadow points to Rouge in the photograph.

"Rouge..."

The young bat smirks and winks at Shadow.

"My my, was there any reason why you remember ME, Shadow~?"

Shadow blushes a little and everyone laughs softly from his reaction.

"You... were there... when we were talking about...the... Eclipse Cannon?"

Yami and Rouge both smile and wag their tails.

"Your memories are coming back, Shadow!"

"Nice job, sugar~"
