Grief By: Kamal “WaLdO” Ali Interlude.. Sort of... It was a awkward night in Perrin park as I was talking to my “Little buddy”. He was wearing his famous hoodie that covered his face making him a totally new person. Of course for me, I just bought a new, purple toboggan. He managed to barely mumble. “Huh, I didn't quite get that, you know I have short attention span.” “Maybe I should have spoke to someone else.. like shel...” “She Has no understanding right now, I know your depressed |screams loudly| And that give you no right to be mad at me, or anyone else for that matter.” I still couldn't make out his facial, as his face was darkened by the shadowing effect of his hood. “My bad little bud, I got a bit angry there.. |small blush| - So, will you tell me what's wrong? I betcha I can take it.” “Always expect the unexpected Kamal...” “Spew it out already!” “well... e-erm, |Whisper| I'm gay.” Chapter 1 Home Oh, sweet.. sweet Louisville. The city I grew up in. I haven't been here in eight years, when I started going to college getting a masters in Chemistry and playing for the IUS college soccer team and competed in the GLVS Conference. |thought bubble| This place has changed... A Lot.. a new bridge, a whole new center for bands, sports, etc. wow. We have really surpassed the bar. I had to find my way to my old apartment, which my friend Wes was kind enough to let me leave it without rent over piling on me. |Wes works at the apartment complex..| After 30 minutes of morning traffic, I find the normal back roads I always used to go to school that connected directly in front of my apartment. After careful driving, I got through the back road and into the small area I love to call home. |Before we move on, lets introduce the characters!| Wes – He is an energetic man child who is tall and has a belly on him to show you he played football in his time. He is a very nice man on the inside and he just doesn't show it a lot. Denies being gay, but he has the nerve to act faggish from time to time. Jordan – Well, Jordan is my best friend since 3rd grade. He is a tall tiger, (even taller than Wes, Jordan was 6'4” at 13 years old,) but he can have a warm heart from time to time. He is, although, short-tempered and has a lack of self-control. But those features I don't mind, he is still my friend non-the-less. (haha, he hates the subject of his personality.. he says he's straight though.) Shelby – oh my gosh, she was like my best friend when we were little in eighth grade! I missed her a lot while I was gone! Anyways, She is an emotional wolf, but hides her “Emo-ness” easily. She always wears a hoodie. She was an amazing friend then, so why not now? Bisexual very openly to everyone. Devon – Another one of my “besties” in middle school. She is a cheetah with ambitions, “Straight to da MAX!” I coined that catch phrase for her when she finally convinced me she wasn't bisexual. Sarah – My chubby little bisexual girl who kind of creeped me out, but was a good friend all the time. She always made me laugh and get me out of my always depressed mood. Hehe if I was straight I might've dated her! And then there is me. A husky who is very kind and loving. I have gray fur all around so I look like a coyote when I'm not properly cleaned up, and I look like a wolf when I am.. I'm openly gay to all my friends and some other people I know of. I'm not very strong nor tall nor fat, I am a very scrawny boy, but can protect myself in “sticky” situations. And that is the gang, now, where were we? I saw my apartment number “14” engraved in stone above the door outside. I busted through the broken door with my very full hands, walked down the hall and dropped all my stuff to get one tiny key. I fit it through the lock and opened to the smell of.. well nothing really. Im just used to the natural apartment stench I guess. After I got everything I had inside and I sat down for awhile, I wanted to go meet everyone at the normal meet up place for saturday's. Sadly this wasn't until 7 Pm. It was 7:30 Am. I had a lot of time to kill sleeping and unpacking. Mainly sleeping! Chapter 2 Well, Hi there! BAH! I overslept! Haha, just kiddin' I overslept to procrastinate unpacking. It was 6:00pm and that's where I wanted it. I wore my new toboggan, which was yellow, to match my outfit. Leaving early to go see my school once more. I didn't want to drive today so that's another reason I left early. Cutting through the back roads took 15 minutes and I finally reached the school. It was empty, but that can be normal on a Saturday afternoon.. Anyways, I headed down for the next 15 blocks. By the time I reached the St. Matthews Mall, it was around 7:15, so I was early, good. Everyone is always late to the mall, while I'm here WAY before everyone else. They don't know what to expect. They will walk into the food court and jaw drop and hug me! But what if this isn't the hang out spot anymore, what if I don't know where everyone is now, what if!?!? KAMAL!!!!!! I heard a freakish shrill calling out for my name. I looked at my clock right before it and it said 7:22, no way it could be any of the girls. I turned around to see my old pals after all! We all hugged and exchanged I missed you's and I'm so happy's. We finally sat at our table that we've been sitting in since 7th grade. And now were 26 and it's still here. Wow. “Haha, good to see you guys here! I was worried I might've been TOO early this time” “oh Kamal, we started coming early to remember you, but i'd never expect to see you now! How did you do in the GLSV?” “Aww thanks Shelby, and we made it to semi-finals before being disqualified for a player on our team caught with steroids.” “shucks, that's terrible. All well were all together as a family again!” It was weird, there was an empty seat next to Wesley and Jordan. I kept staring at it, and everyone whispered to everyone except me. “Erm, someone mind telling me what's going on?” Then he appeared. A red fox with a black tipped tail, and a soft black hoodie, in which covered his head. He got to our table, sat down and took it off. He was a beautiful fox, who seemed to be a very energetic kid, he was scrawny like me, but he didnt seem strong, but as I always say, never judge a book by it's cover! Everything fell silent after he sat down. The stranger said “H-hey, who's the new kid?” “The New Kid Is actually the founder of this table. Now who may you be?” “No way, your Kamal! Haha, they were right, you do look like a wolf and not a husky.” “My question was never answered,” I sayed more calmly, “What would your name be?” “Oh, haha im Scott. Nice to finally meet you Kamal!” He seemed like a very nice guy, so I didn't mind him sitting there. We all waited until 7:45, tradition, until we all got our own food. I got General tsau chicken from China taste. Jordan got a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A. Wes got a Whopper from Burger King. Shelby picked off of Wes's fries like usual. Devon had nachos and cheese from tumbleweed. Sarah stole some of my chicken! Just kidding, I let her. Scott had what I had today, because he said it looked awesome! Well after we were stuffed scott told me about how he came into the group.
