In a forest near Station Square, rain splattered against the window of a cabin-like house. This house belongs to both Sonic The Hedgehog and his mother, Lilly. A young woman, in her 30s, sighs as she looks out of the window. She takes a sip of her cup of tea and shakes her head as she sees the rain pouring and the wind blowing roughly. "What awful weather... I can't remember the last time we had a storm like this here." She takes another sip of her tea and puts her mug down on the table before standing up and looking up the stairs. She smiles as she starts to climb them. "I wonder if Mr Lazyhog is awake yet..." Meanwhile in a blue-walled bedroom, within the house, a young male teenage hedgehog is groaning in his sleep. His yellow duvet cover is draped over his head and his feet are sticking out from the bottom of the bed. Lilly gently knocks on her son's door before entering and smiling at the sight. She walks over and slowly draws his curtains before smiling back at him. "Morning Sonikku... did you sleep well, sweetie?" Usually Sonic would wake up quickly and then stretch before rubbing his eyes and getting up, but today was different... Sonic groans and peeks out from his duvet cover before looking out of his window. He notices the stormy weather outside and groans again before re-covering his face with the duvet. "Ngh, mom... I don't feel well, please let me sleep..." Lilly looks at Sonic with a confused expression before gently lifting the duvet cover. She gasps as she sees her son's poorly face. The young male lowers his ears as he looks up at his mother. A crust had developed over his eyes due to the lack of sleep, his nose is a light hue of red and his forehead is covered in sweat. Lilly places a hand on Sonic's forehead, followed by the back of his neck. "Good heavens, you have a fever!" The young male groans and nods his head. He throws the duvet cover off him and holds his head before laying back in his pillow. Lilly quickly runs over to the window and opens it, allowing cool air to circulate his bedroom. She then walks over to Sonic and gently rubs his ear. "Wait here, darling... I'll go and get something cold for you." Sonic simply nods and watches as Lilly leaves. He sighs and lowers his ears before looking around in his bedroom. He attempts to find something that'll give him comfort while she was gone. Whenever Sonic was ill as a child he always used to stay close to his mother and cling onto her in order to make him feel better. As a teenager Sonic had kept this instinct and always felt upset whenever she was gone. The young male continues to look around on the floor. He moves some pillows and blankets out of the way and soon gasps as he notices that his favourite plushie was underneath it all. He picks it up then looks around before hugging it close. "Kiki! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you fall out of the bed!" The young hedgehog then gives his plushie a kiss on the cheek and puts it down. The plushie is one that looks very similiar to his best friend Kira, only chibi-looking. He was about to get up when all of a sudden a noise comes from outside his door. Sonic quickly grabs the plushie and hides it under his pillow, noticing that it was his mother who was about to enter. "I got you a cold cloth, sweetie... I hope that'll be ok?" Sonic looks over and smiles a little. "Y-yeah, thanks mom. That'll be fine." Lilly sits down next to him and gently places the cloth onto his head. Sonic winces from the cold feeling and Lilly holds it in place. After a little while Sonic sighs and smiles as he nuzzles his head into Lilly's hand. "Alright softy, you have a little rest--" Sonic's ears twitch as there's a knock at the door. Lilly looks to the door and then down at Sonic, she notices that she's still holding the cloth. Sonic smiles up at Lilly and holds the cloth against his head. "It's ok mom, I'll be fine." Lilly smiles and kisses his head before walking downstairs and opening the door. "Hi Lilly!" Lilly smiles as she sees a young purple hedgehog named Kira at the door. "Kira! It's great to see you, sweetheart!" Kira giggles and walks inside as Lilly leads her into the house. "How have you been? I haven't seen you for a while." "I've been pretty good, I've just been doing my childcare work, you know... the usual." "Ah yes, how are you doing with that?" Kira smiles and leans against a wall as she sees a photograph of Lilly and a baby Sonic. "It's going really well, the kids are all so adorable." Lilly notices her curiousity with the photograph and smiles and picks it up in the photoframe. "I thought you'd like this photograph... Sonic was such a precious baby." Kira giggles and smiles at the photograph. "I remember him being a shy but cute baby... well, toddler to be more precise." Lilly giggles and puts the photograph back down before looking upstairs. "Well the still cute baby is upstairs at the moment but he's ill." "Oh my gosh! What's wrong with him?" "He has a bit of a fever but his temperature has gone down a bit." Kira lowers her ears and looks up the stairs. "Poor thing... I'm guessing he won't want any visitors." "You can go and see him if you want, I'll just check to see if he's decent." Kira smiles and wags her tail, happy that she'll be able to see her friend after a long time. She nods and waits at the bottom of the stairs as Lilly walks up. Lilly gently knocks on his door before peeking inside. She smiles to see that he's still awake but resting his eyes. He hears Lilly walk in and opens an eye, looking over. "Hey mom, what's up?" "Kira's here, I told her that had a bit of a fever but she wanted to see you, is that ok?" Sonic smiles and wags his tail, happily. "Yeah, bring her up, please... I'd love to see her!" Lilly smiles at her son's excitement and walks over to him. "You really like Kira don't you, sweetie~?" The blue blur blushes and looks away, looking out of the window. "N-not like that, mom..."
