"We'll go to the party shortly but do you need to go potty?"

"Nuh uwh, me owk mama."

"Are you sure? We won't be able to go again until we get there..."

"Me swure mama."

"Ok sweetheart, then let's get going."

Lilly smiles and picks up her house and car keys in one hand and holds Sonic's hand with the other. Sonic runs off towards the car as his mother locks up the house. She opens the car with her car keys and straps Sonic into his car seat.

"Mama?"

"Yes, my little cupcake?"

Sonic giggles a little from the nickname.

"Will there be any other kwids at the pwarty?"

"Hmm... I'm not sure sweetie. But there will be a lot of women around because it's a childcare job that I am applying for, that's all I know."

The blue blur nods and relaxes in his car seat as he looks outside the window. Lilly drives through the forest that they live in and eventually ends up driving to the entrance of the party.

Sonic looks outside and sees a lot of fancy-dressed mobians all acting elegant and walking inside whilst talking to one another.

He gulps and cowers back in his seat, a little nervous that there aren't any men or boys his age around. He lowers his ears as Lilly opens his car door.

"What's the matter, sweetie? You look upset..."

"Me dwon't see any mwen or bwoys awound mama... what if me am the onwy bwoy?"

Lilly unstraps him and picks him up before closing the door and locking the car behind her.

"Don't worry, darling... I'm sure that there will be some males around."

The blue blur holds onto Lilly nervously as they both enter the upper class building. Lilly smiles in awe as she looks around. She notices Sonic's nervousness and points up at the ceiling, hoping to make him feel better.

"Wow... look at the ceiling, sweetie!"

Sonic looks up and sees loads of diamond-encrusted stain glass window panes as well as paintings that have been produced on the ceiling's highest point. He smiles a little at the display but soon gasps as they walk up to a female echidna.

"Hello madam, what can I do for you?"

"Lilly Bijou, m'am... I am here to see Miss Emberfield."

Sonic nuzzles into his mother's chest, trying to hide his face. The woman notices the little hedgehoglet and gives a concerned look before smiling at Lilly.

"Ah yes of course, she has been expecting you... please go right through."

"Thank you."

Lilly courtesies as she walks inside in the entrance to the grand hall. She smiles as she continues to admire the surroundings. Sonic peeks out of his mother's chest and looks around, only to see a lot of female mobians staring at him and Lilly.

He hides his face once more and whimpers whilst lowering his ears.

"Aww, what's the matter sweetheart?"

"Me dwon't wike it hwere, mama... all the women kweep stwaring at us."

Lilly, who was unaware of what was happening, looks around curiously. She notices mobians whispering to each other whilst looking at them both and gulps a little before clearing her throat.

She didn't want to show it but secretly she knew that the mobians were judging her for being a human with a mobian child.

As they enter the grand hall, Sonic whimpers and sniffs as all of the women look over at him. He shivers all over and buries his head into Lilly's chest.

"M-mama... m-me wanna gwo hwome."

Lilly notices the women walking closer to them and whispers into Sonic's ear whilst walking quicker.

"Shh... we won't be here long, sweetie. I just need to make a good impression to my new boss."

At that moment Miss Emberfield walks over and Lilly smiles and courtesies at her presence.

"Lilly Bijou, I presume?"

"Yes, m'am. I am here about the childcare job that you were offering."
