Path 8-0: Alola

You are a brand new Pokemon Trainer making your start in Alola. Well, "new" is a bit of a strong word. You've spent some time training in other regions before, but in true Ash Ketchum fashion, you've decided to leave all your old Pokemon somewhere and start anew. Thank Arceus you already know the basics, though, otherwise this'd be a looong tutorial you'd be slogging through.

OK, I'm gonna stop identifying the trainer as "you" now. It's a little weird.

Let's choose a gender for this trainer and get this new journey underway...

Sun had arrived in sunny Alola. It had been a long flight, but now that he was here, he was anxious to meet up with Prof. Kukui and pick up his first Pokemon in this new region. This is how it worked in other regions, and he had no reason to expect different. It wasn't long before he'd arrived in Hau'oli City on Melemele Island. It was the largest city in Alola, apparently, and Sun quickly found himself lost. Looking back and forth, he saw that one road led to a small beach area and one led to what seemed to be a shopping district. "Hm... I didn't bring any Pokemon, so I probably shouldn't get too close to the ocean, just in case... On the other hand, I'm not sure I'll find the professor in all that city..." he sighed.

Moon was relaxing in her new house on route 1. She's moved from Kanto, where she'd begun a Pokemon training journey before her mother decided to pack up and move. Arriving in this new region, she decided she wanted a fresh start. According to her mother, things worked differently in Alola, and she'd have to see Melemele island's Kahuna about getting a new starter Pokemon. She was in no rush as she climbed out of bed, still dressed in her striped outfit from the day before. "Hmmm... I could head straight to the Kahuna's place... On the other hand, it might be fun to explore the island a bit. I did only JUST move here..." she muttered thoughtfully.

What should Moon do?
