A History and Almanac of Furside City By Misterebony I have examined many dimensions. From the all human world of Terra, to the sweet covered word of Candar, to Seraphim, home of the hunters and the ruin they made, to Mobius, where Sonic and his friends live. Even my own Fairton, in the Alchemists World, has a very unique history. But New Terra, an alternate world where the year is the mid 21st century, strikes me as the most peaceful. Since the third world war, there has not been one conflict in the dimension save for the usual battles against crime. No large scale wars or weapons of mass dstruction, and no sign of any battles lasting years on end. TOok help getting their though. A lot of it. In examining the history of New Terra and the core area of it, Furside City, it was amazing that the world did not die out. Era 1: Terra's Mirror Much of the early ages of New Terra are similar to those of Terra where humans dominate. The world was filled with conflicts, destruction, peace, love, hate, and everything else hat makes an intelligent species. No furries wee ever formed, either by evolution, genetic manipulation, or sheer luck. Then it happened. In the second decade of the 21st century, man declared war. Not war like the ones before, a war fought with weapons of mass destruction. Nuclear warheads, disease bombs, chemical agents, mutenagenic weapons, EMP... the worst weapons ever concieved were brought to bear. From a population of trillions, less than 3 million survived. 87.45% of the world was contaminated, and many species went extinct. Yet men kept fighting, no side satisfied until total victory was achieved, not listening to the words of their children or the messages of the past. This would clearly be the fate of Terra, since in that world there is no outside intervention. I fear for its future. But on New Terra, somethin happened that changed everything. Something no one, even I, could have expected. The Aliens came. Era 2: "You Have a Choice..." In the year 20 51, New Terra was visited by a series of large warpships. The configuration matched that of temples found all throughout Terra, including Egyptian pyramids and Atlantian citadels. But these were no buildings. There were massive colony ships, seeing Earth and its inhabitants and the dire strights they were in. The ships landed in the comparative area of Berlin, Germany. There, the aliens revealed what they REALLY were: A race of intelligent furs, many mammialian, but there were reptilian ones as well, including dragons of al creatures. There were no fish or birds, but all were bipedial, and only a few looked to be prey species and even they had sharp teeth and hungry eyes. The ships called the leaders of the remaining humans to their ship landing area, where their leaders would meet with the ones they have. One of these beings was a tall black figure, canine, with sharp features and jet black fur, clothed in golden attire. He was leader of the aliens, Azdsan Wakar, translated in Terran as Annubis, the God of the Afterlife. Annubis told the humans this speech: "The planet we have come to here was to be our new home, after our own was forsaken and desolute. But we see here a planet that is dying. Your people war with one another over its resources, its land, or for your own agendas. Your kind should be ashamed, yet you are no different from us, for we fell into our troubles and destroyed our world. You have a choice, humans of Earth. You will either join us, in which case we will heal your planet and dictate our terms. Or you may fight us. There is no shame in this choice, for to fight doing what you think is best would be an honorable death, worthy of the Gates. But I put it not to you. I ask that the choice be made by the wisest and most right of your race, who are influced by propaganda or time: the children will decide." Annubis fell silent. Many of those left alive were children, yet older figures held power, ready to committ these children to fight on forever. Annubis had spoken wisely, for by asking for the children, he was asking for the opinions of he innocent. The children decided that day, some based on the appearence of the furs (Who to some looked like big, cuddly animals, to be honest), some based on what they have been through, and some because they wanted to help. They chose to surrender to the furs. The terms were set. They would rebuild the contaminated world together. Then they would be eaten. ERA 3: Reformation The adults were shocked and appaled when the furs set the terms. in exchange for restoring the planet, which was completed by 2070, the people would give half of their children to the furs. The furs were small in number and far outnumbered by the humans, but they were powerful and could more than back up the deal. Still, the last thing either side wanted was bloodshed. Annubis, as it turned out, found that children had the answer: The way to make the new life, was to eliminate death. Annubis fit his title, saying his scientists would work on a way to allow for being eaten witout worry of death. For 13 years they experimented. They knew the key was the soul. SOuls are the portion of humans that travel to the afterlife, but a death by being eaten had to make that soul somehow get a new shell. A feline named Seraph Anata, famous among furs as a scientist of genetics, discovered the answer. DNA was the key. Since a portion of DNA was tied to the soul, a tiny amount of it could be preserved somehow, and used to reconstruct a new body just as it was when digestion occured. Acids would trigger the reaction, marking the exact age, weight, height, thoughts, and so forth a being would be upon digestion by a fur. The whole of the process seemed too advanced to explain, but the idea was similar to what I had seen on other worlds, using magic or, in my case, alchemy. The reformation serum was broken down and solidified, making a tasteless pill that lasted a lifetime. But there was a setback: No one volunteered to test it. It was a little four-year-old girl named Gretel, a German resident, who volunteered. She was fond of Seraph Anata, and asked the feline to eat her. The brave girl took the prototype pill. Anata opened wide. She ate the child in five bites, making somewhat of a mess as she tore the clothes to shreds. But as she ate, the signs that the pill was working showed. For one, there was no bloody mess. No guts spilling everywhere. No bones cracking. The pill had altered the DNA of the child, rendering her a meat girl, her bones softened, her blood stilled. Yet she was still alive the whole time, even as she was chewed up. How this could be she was not sure. But the pill was working. This was proven as, a short while later, Gretel reformed in a flash of light right at the spot where she was eaten. Her soul, apparently, had traveled to that very spot as her DNA was reconstructed, a case confirmed on several occasions. Reformation was a reality. No one need fear being eaten anymore. ERA 4: Dividing the Areas Ironically, the idea that they could be eaten made the children food crazy! children and adults were eaten by the shipload. Annubis, now old, knew that this was a MASSIVE problem. If all the two races cared about was being food or eating it, there would be no growth. no advancement of intelligence. No NOTHING. He knew this had to be regulated. He was greatful that, at lkeats, reformation did not mean immortality. The person still aged, albeit slower by seconds if that, and the rate of growth in the world was a safe level for planet management. But the endless feedings had to stop. So, he began the plans for Furside CIty. In truth, Furside was the name of only half the region, the other was really called Humeside. The layout was to seperate the two races and allow them to grow. In the center of the city would be a neutral area, where furs and humans could go in safety. BUT, if a human entered furside, he was fair game to be cooked and eaten. Furs, likewise, could be hunted for furs and meat by the humans, if a fur went into Humeside. From then on, furs would take a variation of the reformation pill developed shortly after, allowing them to be skinned and butchered for meat, reforming after around 24 hours. The odds were even, and the rules set. Officials of both races were set loose in the cuity to monitor any excessive feeding, and stop it. But the people found a loop hole. FINAL ERA: Food Pet There were rules that you could not catch a multitude of humans for gluttonous feedings. BUT, there were no rules on eating one over and over, the way many people watch a movie or play a game in that way. It was the children AGAIN who came up wioth the idea, the first being a spunky little boy named Abe, who loved a bear family so much he refused to leave it. He said this: "I won't leave. I am part of the family! I am their pet!" The term stuck. Because he refused to be treated as anything but, and because he was eaten over and over, "Food Pet" became the term for humans who become permenant foodstuffs. The process involved a paper which got a fingerprint from the human invoved (or the fur if the humans wanted a cuddly intelligent pet). This was like a blood oath. From then on, the print person cannot leave and may be eaten as often as the new owners want. Moreover, adults were not immune, as cases of adult food pets were common. Annubis, unable to prevent this, sighed sadly at the willingness of the children. His fears, thankfully, were unjustified, but still haunt the dimension to this day. The food pet era is the modern era, where furs walk their humans, humans buy whole bunny furs for Easter dinners, and children are served up at most eateries. CULTURE Much of the culture in Furside revolves around having fun and working hard. The buisness district is full of stores, resturants, malls, parks, and churches for recreational purposes. Food Pets and the idea of vore is common, and theme parks exist where children can do and pay to be eaten 100 times or more on fun rides. Marriage is often within the races, but some interspecies relationships, resulting in the current subspecies of halfbreeds, exist. Most citizens believe in a higher power, but how they believe is very unique, many of the pre-war religions, including Christianity, Muslim, Daoism, and Scientology, all are still practiced in limited degrees, combined with the fur religion of The High Being, a supreme diety who uses 1000 minor dieties, one to lead each corner of the universe. the diety for the New Terra section, based on the texts, is called Iam. GEOGRAPHY FUrside City is a HUGE city area. The neutral section alone covers all of old Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Humeside flows out towards the English Channel, while Furside turns southward towards the Middle East, terraformed into a paradise. Most of the Humeside and Furside zones are residential, with mom and pop stores dotting the areas, as well as grocers and even small farms. Small versions of Furside City exist on every continent, but most other regions are rural, and practice different customs. The exception is North America, almost totally rural, used as a HUGE orphanage were children are eaten constantly, per their request. Many of the residents here are wolves, rabbits, and mountain lion furs, many of which keep a pantry of 20 - 40 children apeice. Antartica is the only uninhabited region, after terraforming the region turned it into a park that people visit. OTHER NOTES There is much to see in this region, and I cannot catalog it all. I ask all visitors to Furside to catalog anything they may see. It is a peaceful place, and I want to know fully how it stayed so. MISTER EBONY
