Charmander relentlessly scratches at Squirtle, determination burning in his eyes. Alex smiles are the turtle Pokemon tumbles backward onto his shell, and Blue wears an awkward expression, made even more awkward as Misty starts to boo him. "Goes to show this untrained Squirtle isn't very great..." he sighs, returning the comically flailing turtle to its Poke Ball. Elated to have won his first battle, Alex jumps up excitedly before running over to give Charmander a hug. Blue starts to leave. "Good luck in your training, kid. Smell ya later!" and with that, Blue struts out of the Pokemon Center as though nothing has happened.

Misty's still there as Alex gathers his things and prepares to head out. "So... I guess I gotta let you off the hook... But you'd better be damn ready when you come to challenge my GYM, or I'll show you what a woman scorned REALLY looks like!" she warns. Alex glances at her with a polite smile. "Sorry for the trouble... Perhaps a skilled GYM leader like yourself would do me the honor of tutoring me on how to catch my first Pokemon?" he asks. Misty crossed her arms. "Flattery will get you nowhere... But fine, I guess you should come to my GYM with more than that runty lizard." she sighs. Charmander looked at her grouchily, and then turned to Alex. "Char...?" he grumbled. Alex looked down at his companion with a frown. "I wish I could understand ya, buddy..." he muttered. "Hey, come on!" Misty shouts from the doorway. It's time to go!

They head for the route due west of Cerulean City. A nice variety of Pokemon are roaming about in the tall grass. Misty stands aside and motions to the grass. "Okay, hot shot. Which of these Pokemon you wanna try catching?" she asks. There's Sandshrew, Ekans, Meowth, Rattata, Pidgey... a nice variety. Thinking about your goal of gathering Pokemon for... certain lewd purposes... two in particular come to mind. The catty Meowth and the constrictive Ekans. Either could be entertaining in their own way.
