"Over there! There he is!" came the wail of the cop. He was chasing a masked thief in the public museum, but not in the middle of the night no... This particular thief was daring; he stole a rare artifact, a chaos emerald, during the day when there are many people around. "Stop! In the name of the law!" Said thief looked back and smirked; it was the same ebony cop that has been trailing him for months now. He was persistent, he'd give him that. Looking ahead, he felt around in his pocket as he knocked some furniture to hinder the police officer, even sharply turning corners of the halls and bumping against other mobians within the building. 'haha, this cop wants me badly! I guess he's mad about the many times I 'borrowed' his wallet' the criminal thougth to himself "I said FREEZE goddamit!!!" the ebony yelled from behind him When venturing upon a particularly empty hallway, the masked thief looked back once again and saw that the cop was catching up to him. The ebony cop on the other hand was beginning to run out of breath; this... hooligan will not escape him this time. He has the whole museum surrounded. He was more than certain he will finally capture this criminal 'He is daring, or should I say reckless; no robber in their right mind would try and rob an museum during the day. Doesn't matter, he will soon be arrested' "Officer Shadow, the squad is waiting outside for your orders, what is the next move?" Another cop said through the walkie-talkie "Just stay put; he'll either escape through the front or through the back. Block off all possible exits he'll take. Either way prepare yourselves. Once you see him arrest him; This thief can't escape us anymore" "oh yeah, you won't escape us now, Ace" Officer Shadow mumbled to himself Ace was the name given by the police to this mysterious masked man. No one knows who he is or where he comes from; he doesn't leave any finger prints on the crimescene. What he always leave behind however, is an Ace of Spades card as his trademark that still doesn't have fingerprints on them. With that being the only clue for identification, the authorities have dubbed him as "Ace of Spades", or simply Ace. The masked thief sighed. Honestly, he doesn't really look like a thief; he looks more like a magician than anything with his black cape, top hat and full-dress tailcoat. Up ahead, there was a large double-door at the end of the hallway. Seeing this as his moment of opportunity, he twisted his body lightly and threw a round object which exploded into gas, catching his pursuers off-guard. The temporarily-blinded cops were coughing from the smoke bomb. When they've regained their composure, they headed straight out through the door, hoping they'd catch a glimpse of the masked criminal But their frustration grew when they've realized that they have been outwitted and eluded yet again by Ace the mysterious thief. Shadow growled inwardly "He's still somewhere in the building! Find him and arrest that bastard!" he ordered his comrades "YES SIR!" 'DAMN! That sneaky bastard! How does he manage to get away from us ALL THE TIME??? guess he wasn't being reckless by robbing the museum during midday; it's hard to chase when there are many people around' In his fury he collided against an ivory hedgehog male viewing some paintings, causing both of them to fall down. Shadow was the first to get up "I am so sorry sir! I didn't see you" the dark-furred cop apologized as he helped the other male up "no no, no need to apologize officer. I was too immersed in this painting I didn't see you coming from my peripheral vision" the snow-colored hedgehog explained as he took Shadow's hand "But may I ask what's the rush?" he said, golden eyes lighting with curiosity. He heard the cop sighing "Well sir, a robbery occured here just now, and we are on pursuit of a thief. You haven't seen a masked hedgehog with a cape running away have you?" "Oh sorry officer, but no.. I was admiring the art in here to notice" "I see; well that's alright misterrrr...." "Silver" "Silver; well mister Silver if you happen to see anything suspicious, contact the police" Shadow smiled politely at Silver "I shall be off; duty calls. Have a good day Mr. Silver" then he left him, still hot on Ace's tail. Inwardly, Silver smirked "oh I will have a good day" he told himself as he placed the ebony cop's wallet in his pocket. Then, catching a glimpse of Shadow's belt, he saw an Ace of Spades card inserted by his waist. It's a fair trade; the cop's wallet for his trademark, his card. That police officer will be in for a surprise. Silver began to walk towards the other exhibits "A good day indeed"
